Constructing Play - Toy Exhibition Opening

Preparing for Constructing Play

The past week has ben filled with helping put together the annual construction toy exhibition at the center for Architecture in Philadelphia, PA. A great exhibition exemplifying toys from the 19th through the 21st century that have helped develop children's perception of form, structures, and mechanics. This year we focused on the Philadelphia architecture. I build the Comcast Center with assistance from colleagues of the the local Associate AIA, the PSFS Building, as well as the featured ROKENBOK construction toys.

I've helped build toys, prepare graphics, and currently working on the opening reception activity for all attending guests. The plan is to have a city map, similar to the organization of Center City Philadelphia, that guests will then build structures with wooden blocks...and create a new city!

Come to the opening with a donation of a toy.

Come out and invite your friends and family. This show is open to the public from November 26 through February 4, at the Center for Architecture - 13th and Arch Streets.
