FUNKtional DIY Laundry Sorter!

Don't you just hate laundry? Especially when you can't separate/organize them to begin with, to make laundry just be a little bit more bearable? Or just accumulate it until IT'S TIME, to do it. Well we have tried a couple ways since leaving college: a white laundry basket for the whites and the blue laundry basket for everything else; the laundry mesh bags one for colors/one for whites; one big laundry bag for all the laundry. The one we thought that was really going to work was this three-bag laundry sorter on wheels, that stood about six feet tall with a rod to hang clothes, and then a fabric cover to hide the laundry. Cost us maybe $35-$50, can't remember--we finally let it fall apart and it joined the trash at the curb. We had to find a solution for all the laundry!
I enjoy Apartment Therapy's website, it inspired me to start doing arts and crafts again, and start this blog. I showed my roommate the site, to share with him some of the line drying ideas they had in small spaces, in the process he found laundry sorting solutions. We had a plan screw in a piece of wood to the wall, get some white nylon bags, hang them, and voila! We were on a mission to find the materials for this project...
But it wasn't until last weekend on a sporadic trip to IKEA that we finally found a solution! And under $7!

We knew the components but couldn't find them and we were hesitant it was even going to work--we have tons of laundry between the both of us, and a dinky little nylon bag isn't going to make a difference. So I suggested Troy...What if we get those big $0.99 hooks and the reusable blue IKEA bags? They're big bags and we always have lots of laundry. Troy replied: Why not? Sounds good to me!
Now our "laundry closet" seems so much more organized, and less of a hot mess. Plus, it's so much stronger than plastic rods coming apart, and more portable than wheels. Our less than $7 laundry sorter solution!
