Everyday Clothes for a Costume? No!

Oh Yes! Look at me I'm a PIRATE!

Although I asked myself: "If one can put together a costume from one's everyday clothes, what exactly does that mean?"

Like a friend had shared: "You're Awesome."

So the low down...

Head wrap: scarf from NY & Co.

Tunic: vintage shirt/dress at Sazz Vintage Warehouse on Coral Street ($4 or $

Vest: purple velvet from Old Navy (?) clearance

Black Belt with silver buckle

Pants: gray tapered khakis from Old Navy, also clearance

Boots: rain boots from Nine West Outlet

Coat: blue velvet exterior, vintage find at Sazz Vintage Warehouse last spring ($25?)

The versatility having the coat was well worth it last Saturday when we had such wintery weather and we had to be at the Children's Crisis Treatment Center for Spooktacular*!

I've just been planning out Spooktacular* since July, and so sad it's over already.

Spooktacular is a two-part (Charette & Part Boo!) annual event hosted by the Associate AIA Philadelphia in collaboration with the Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD) for the children of the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CcTC) Therapeutic Nursery School.

Spooktacular provides the children of CcTC with a safe, enjoyable trick-or-treating experience, while local designers and students get to work together and use their talents to give back to the community.  CcTC is a non-profit organization that provides counseling to children who have
experienced physically or emotionally traumatic events.  Spooktacular allows these children and their families to safely celebrate Halloween and provides all participants and volunteers to enjoy a positive and memorable day.
